At Riverside our piano and keyboard courses are geared toward the way you want to learn.
We teach all styles – classic and contemporary. Our piano lessons in Glasgow are taught on a one-to-one basis.
Whether you are an absolute beginner at playing the piano or are already an experienced performer, we will tailor your lessons to suit your ability level. You will also be able to learn at a pace you are comfortable with. Every student is unique and learns in their own way, our lessons are professionally designed with this fact in mind.
Our piano tutor Ally Forsyth is a vastly experienced multi-instrumentalist, who studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He works regularly with some of the country's most in-demand musicians.
Ally attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in Plockton where he learned from Andy Thorburn (piano) and Jack Evans (guitar). It was here that he became part of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominated band, Thalla.
Since moving to Glasgow, Ally has studied under Mary McCarthy and James Ross. He has also performed at some of the UK's most prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and the Steinway Hall, London.
Riverside is located in Busby in the South Side of Glasgow, our purpose built facility benefits from acoustically designed rehearsal, recording and performance studios. We enjoy excellent transport links, the East Kilbride to Glasgow train line passes nearby. Busby train station is just a short walk from the facility. We have many piano students attending from the local area as well as from Clarkston and Giffnock.
Please note: as of 1st February 2015, Riverside Music Complex adheres to a strict cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled lesson will incur a 50% charge. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the lesson must pay the full cost of the lesson
